On November 22, Georgia State University Professor Ahn Seon-joo from the Department of Advertising and Public Relations gave a lecture at Korea University Sejong Campus.
The event was co-hosted by the Korea University Sejong Research & Business Foundation, the LINC3.0 Project Group, and the Sejong Development Research Association. After listening to Professor Ahn's keynote lecture there was a Q&A session with six panelists including Professor Ahn.
The topic of the lecture focused on ‘A User-centered Metaverse-North American AR/VR Research Trends and Major Issues’. In the lecture, she explained that the metaverse has already taken up a significant place in our lives, such as in the form of remote classes or work due to the pandemic, and its impact will only expand in the future as “our avatars in the metaverse have a great deal of influence on our thoughts, behaviors, and attitudes. There is a growing need to know the importance of choosing an avatar.”
In the panel discussion after the keynote lecture, participants exchanged thoughts on “where the future of the metaverse is going.”
