On November 12, an agreement ceremony for fine dust reduction was held in meeting room 1 of the Korea University Sejong Campus Administrative Building. This event was held to arrange various business agreements with a number of companies to solve high-risk fine dust problems using technical methods. On this day, participants of the event were Baek Seungpil, the head of the Sejong Institute of Academic Cooperation, Kang Hyeonguk, the head of the College of Science and Technology, Park Jeonghui, a member of the Fine Dust Regulation Committee, Lee Daeyeong, the head of King Star Lighting, and Park Giseo, vice president of KC Courtrel.

This event started with a welcoming address from Professor Gang Sanguk, the head of the Carbon Recycling Research Center. Baek Seungpil, acting as a representative of Vice President Kim Young, said, “For reduction of the fine dust that endangers our health and impairs our daily lives, the campus is doing its best. The Carbon Recycling Research Center, under the College of Science and Technology, is aligning with national policies by beginning to develop a fine dust detector from May. I hope that this becomes our first step towards fine dust reduction.” Afterward, Kang made some statements regarding fine dust standardization and the role of Korea University Sejong Campus, and the event wrapped up with the remainder of the members signing the agreement contract.

Research in the Daejeon-Sejong region on fine dust reduction is being conducted by Professor Lim Jaecheon in the Public Policy Research Institute.
