ITS-International Day

International day is an event held every semester on Korea University’s Sejong campus. This event is a study abroad fair that aims to promote the different universities that Korea University is partnered with.

"We partnered with 39 universities in different countries and we are constantly working on partnering with more," explained program coordinator, Alexandra Balobeshkina. "Right now we are working on partnering with Singapore and Japan University too."

International day is mandatory for foreign exchange students apart of ITS to participate in. The students are required to make poster boards and hand out brochures with information on three different universities, including their own. ITS programmers and students help set up tables and decorations in front of the library entrance to help attract Korean students during the event.

The event lasts for about four hours and within that short amount of time, ITS students have to compete to get the most Korean students to come to their table and receive information. The students also get evaluated by ITS programmers on how much information they know for each university they are presenting. This winners of the event gets a cash prize up to 200,000₩.

“The International day gave me a lot of information about Eastern Michigan. I also was able to get help with my application from a student who is an exchange student from Eastern at the event," said Jae Min-uk, a senior at KU.

"I found the information from the event very beneficial," said Jeongwon Park, a senior at KU. "I learned many things about the universities in Germany and will consider studying there before graduating."

The next international day will be held during the fall 2016 semester around the month of October. If any students have any interests of studying abroad and seeing what universities are available, visit the international office inside of Nong Shim Hall.
