Fall 2021 Semester Plans (revision) 2021. 7. 28.

 

1. Background

- The Sejong Campus informed teachers and departments of the Fall semester plans based on expanding offline classes depending on the social distancing level to correspond to the offline class guidelines of the Ministry of Education and the COVID-19 guidelines of the government.

- In the capital area, the social distancing regulations were raised to level 4 on July 27 due to the continuous spread of COVID-19, and in noncapital areas, the social distancing regulations were raised to level 3 including Sejong City.

- Therefore, a reorganization of the Fall semester plans announced last semester was requested.

 

2. Revisions of the Sejong Campus Fall 2021 Semester Plans

1) Rule of lecture progress

- Offline class depending on social distancing level

 

2) Criteria of the number of people in offline classes

- Under 30 undergraduate students

- Experiment, practice, performance classes

- Students can participate in online classes according to the teacher’s approval when an offline class is held

 

3) When over 70% of the whole country is vaccinated with a first dose

- All classes are changed into offline classes

2) When the Fall semester started in September (same with Spring semester)

- All theory classes held online and offline simultaneously in real time

- Experiment, practice, and performance classes held offline

- Students can participate in online classes according to the teacher’s approval when an offline class is held

 

3) When over 70% of the whole country is vaccinated with a first dose

- Same

4 level

All classes proceed in an online format (in real time)

 

3. Detailed information

A. Check how lectures are held (offline or online/offline) depending on the number of people acceptable in classrooms after the course registration period and participate in the classes.
B. Students who are included in the cases below can participate in offline classes after being allowed by teachers.

1) Students who are in quarantine

2) Students who have COVID-19 symptoms

3) Students who cannot return to the Republic of Korea because of staying in other countries, the policies of the other countries, and lack of flights

4) Other reasons related to above cases



4. COVID-19 checks in offline classes

 A. Take your temperature

  1) Do a self-diagnosis before going to school (If you have one of the known symptoms, quarantine yourself and participate in the online class after you contact your teacher)

  2) Take your temperature with the thermal imaging camera in front of school buildings.

   - If your temperature is over 37.5, quarantine yourself and participate in the online class after you contact your teacher.

B. Wear a Mask: Do not enter any buildings in the campus without wearing a mask.

C. Use hand sanitizer: Use hand sanitizers at the entrance of school buildings.

D. Before beginning the Fall 2021 semester, getting the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination is recommended. (Attendance accreditation is necessary by using the Announced Lecture Cancellation Report system until the day or the next day of your vaccination)

 

5. When people with symptoms are found in the school

 A. After people take a COVID-19 test immediately following the guidance of the Health Center, they are allowed to return home.

 - Participate in online classes before the result of a COVID-19 test is announced.

 → If you do not have symptoms after getting a negative result, participate in offline classes.

 → If you have any symptoms despite the negative result, participate in online classes.

 

6. Plans for response to confirmed cases

 A. Call and report immediately when confirmed cases are perceived the Health Center (1038), Faculty & Educational Affairs Team (1124)

 B. Close the floor of the building where confirmed cases occurred and take preventive measures

 C. Close contacts according to tracing are allowed to return home

    - Participate in online classes before the announcement of a COVID-19 test result.

    → After getting a negative result, participate in offline classes.

D. Change offline classes into online classes in real time

 1) Duration: over three days from the day confirmed cases occur

 2) Relevant course: all of the courses related to the floor of confirmed cases running offline classes in the building

E. Measures of the courses in which confirmed cases occur

 1) Students in the courses should cooperate with COVID-19 contact tracing and must get a COVID-19 test

 2) Preventive measures in classrooms are conducted (sterilization and ventilation, closing of classrooms for 24 hours)
