On September 12, Korea University Sejong RISE Project Group held its official inaugural ceremony and business briefing session at the Science and Technology Hall. The event was organized to announce the formal launch of the Sejong RISE Project Group and to share the future direction of an innovative university support system in collaboration with the local community.
The inauguration was attended by Choi Boseung, Vice Director for Education of the Sejong RISE Project Group, along with faculty members, officials from local governments, representatives of regional industries and related institutions, as well as staff from various university departments involved in the group’s operations.
Through the ceremony, the Korea University Sejong RISE Project Group presented its vision and goals under the framework of the Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE). The group shared its vision of coexisting and advancing together with the local community, establishing a sustainable cooperative system among local governments, industry, and academia, and transforming the university into an institution that makes tangible contributions to the community through education, research, and research and business cooperation.
In particular, the Sejong Campus announced plans to position itself as a leading institution for regional development by organically integrating innovation, research and business collaboration, sustainability, and education, in line with the core values of RISE, which stands for ‘Regional Innovation System & Education.’
At the subsequent business briefing session, the group outlined a series of initiatives, including developing and operating specialized curricula at the Handuri Campus, expanding research and business collaboration projects, nurturing young human resources and improving local living conditions, and promoting community-focused research initiatives.
Choi stated, “Through this inaugural ceremony, the university and the local community have come together to share a common vision and to strengthen cooperative frameworks to lead regional innovation. In particular, we will ensure that the achievements of education, research, and research and business collaboration are returned to the community, while creating opportunities for young people to design their futures within the region.”
