Park Shinjeong, Senior Staff of the Korea University Sejong Research and Business Foundation was selected as 'RISE Grand Star,' the highest award in 'RISE-Star,' which recognizes outstanding talent leading regional innovation, and received the Ministry of Education Minister's Award.

'RISE-Star' is an award system administered by the Ministry of Education and the Central RISE Center that selects and honors officials who have created outstanding achievements in regional industrial development, educational innovation, and talent development through the RISE project.

This year, a total of 10 recipients were selected from university faculty, staff, and students nationwide, as well as executives and employees of institutions and companies. Among these, the highest honor of 'RISE Grand Star' went to Korea University Sejong Research and Business Foundation.

Park was recognized for contributing to the vitalization of regional industry-academic cooperation by demonstrating excellent driving force and innovative achievements in project implementation for building an industry-academia-research cooperation ecosystem and solving regional issues.

Park stated, "It is an honor to be recognized for achievements accomplished together with colleagues who have worked together in the field of regional innovation. "I will continue to create substantial changes that allow the region and university to grow together."

The RISE project is a regional innovation-based higher education system transformation project that supports universities to contribute to solving regional problems and nurturing human resources by cooperating with industry, local governments, and public institutions as core regional hubs. In particular, it focuses on creating a university-centered 'regional innovation ecosystem' and implementing an industry-academia-government cooperation model that organically links education, research, and industry-academic cooperation functions with regional sites.

The Korea University Sejong Research and Business Foundation plans to further strengthen its role as a leading regional innovation institution following this award and accelerate sustainable diffusion of the RISE project and a win-win cooperation with the local community.
