Korea University Sejong RISE Project: Strengthening Industry–Academia–Research Cooperation through Company-Tailored Technology Exchange and Laboratory Tours
On November 12, Korea University Sejong Campus held the ‘2025 Bio and Food Tech Promising Commercialization Technologies Roadshow’ in the Research and Business Cooperation Building. The event was jointly hosted and organized by the Korea University Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation, the Korea Agriculture Technology Promotion Agency, and FNP Partners Co., Ltd.
On the day of the event, a ‘visiting technology exploration group’ composed of companies with demand for food tech related technologies participated and visited the laboratories of Professor Lee Hyera and Professor Jeon Hyunsik of the Department of Bioinformatics Engineering at Korea University Sejong Campus. The exploration group directly examined promising technologies on site and exchanged in-depth opinions with the research teams, seeking ways to narrow the technology gap between research and business and to identify directions for cooperation.
The technology briefing consisted of presentations by researchers on their technologies, consultations on technologies and support programs, and laboratory tours. Participating companies engaged in concrete discussions on the possibilities of joint research and technology transfer on site.
Through this program, Korea University expects to establish a rapid cooperation system between companies (technology demanders) and researchers (technology suppliers) and to generate tangible commercialization outcomes.
Choi Duho, Head of the Korea University Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation, stated, “This event was a meaningful occasion where the technological demands of companies and the capabilities of researchers in the food tech field were organically connected. I hope that today’s meeting will become a starting point for opening new possibilities in the future food industry.”
Korea University Sejong Campus plans to further strengthen region-based industry–academia–research cooperation through this visiting technology briefing held as part of the Sejong RISE Project, and to contribute to the creation of an innovative ecosystem in the food tech industry.
