Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation selected as an excellent BI in the national business incubation center management evaluation and receives the Minister of SMEs and Startups Commendation
The Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Korea University Sejong Campus received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Commendation after recording excellent results in the ‘2025 Business Incubation Center Management Evaluation’ conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
This evaluation comprehensively assessed the incubation performance of business incubation centers nationwide. Six institutions were selected as recipients of government commendations: the Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Korea University, the Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Pusan National University, the Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Sungkyunkwan University, KIST Innovation Co., Ltd., the Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Dankook University, and the Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Chungbuk National University.
From November 25 to 26, 2025, the award ceremony was held during the ‘2025 Startup Infrastructure Integrated Performance Report Conference,’ which took place at the Inspire Resort in Incheon. Approximately 450 participants attended the event, including officials from startup infrastructure operating organizations nationwide, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and its affiliated agencies, and outstanding startup companies.
The Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation operates a comprehensive growth support system covering the entire cycle for technology-based startups, including commercialization, technology consulting, intellectual property, and global market entry. Through this systematic support, the foundation carried out 41 commercialization support cases over the past two years, achieving 124% of its planned performance, which led to improvements in quantitative indicators of tenant companies. Sales of tenant companies increased by 38%, employment by 54%, and exports by 750%, while the survival rate of graduated companies over the past three years rose to 85%.
Among the tenant companies, Boda Co., Ltd. surpassed 10 billion won in sales, won the USD 1 Million Export Tower Award, and was selected for the BIG3 Innovation Startup Package. Dynamedic Co., Ltd. was selected for the TIPS program and expanded its global business, while Riwha Networks Co., Ltd. achieved growth outcomes such as securing patents and standard certifications.
The center contributes to revitalizing the regional startup ecosystem by hosting joint events, including startup festivals, IR days, and networking days, in cooperation with related regional institutions such as Cheongju City and the Chungbuk Provincial Government.
It has also expanded the foundation for external capital inflow by recording a 70% linkage rate with external projects and signing letters of intent for investment totaling 250 million won. In addition, the center is promoting the establishment of a regional startup cooperation model by co-hosting the ‘Chungcheong Region Startup Alliance IR Demo Day’ with Seowon University and the Chungbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center.
Director Choi Duho stated, “This ministerial commendation is the result of the collective efforts of our members who have worked together to support the growth of regional startup companies. We will continue to strengthen support for commercialization, technological advancement, investment, and overseas expansion so that startups in the Chungbuk–Sejong region can secure competitiveness in national and global markets.”
Going forward, the Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation plans to continue strengthening its systematic incubation system based on professional personnel, and to fulfill its role in building a regional innovation growth model centered on technology startups and fostering the sustainable development of the startup ecosystem.
