Strengthening collaboration through industry trend lectures and networking
On January 7, he Sejong RISE Project Group of Korea University Sejong Campus held the ‘2025 Sejong RISE Industry-Led University FDK-Cluster Forum (Future Mobility × Information Security)’ at the Sejong Shared Campus (Handuri Campus). The forum aimed to build a cooperative ecosystem for the joint growth of the future mobility and information security industries.
At the forum, the Sejong RISE Project Group (Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation) signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with 10 companies in the future mobility sector and 10 companies in the information security sector, respectively.
These agreements aim to establish a cooperative framework to promote research and business collaboration, identify joint projects, commercialize technologies, cultivate human resources, and expand networks based on activation of the FDK clusters in each field.
In addition, the Sejong RISE Project Group signed an MOU with the KATECH Gangso Special Zone Campus of the Korea Automotive Technology Institute to promote the Sejong RISE Project and expand industry–academia–research cooperation in the future mobility field.
The two institutions plan to broaden the scope of cooperation by identifying joint projects, supporting companies, and expanding networks based on a cluster-centered collaboration system.
The event proceeded with an opening address, a vision declaration, the MOU signing ceremony, industry-specific expert lectures, and networking sessions.
Through the vision declaration, the direction of cooperative linkage between the future mobility and information security industries was officially articulated, and the participating entities reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration.
During the industry-specific lectures, experts shared trends and future directions in their respective fields. In the future mobility session, Oh Mihye, Director of the KATECH Gangso Special Zone Campus, delivered a lecture titled ‘Three Mega Trends in Future Mobility (SDV, AI Convergence, and Carbon Neutrality)’ and presented demonstration strategies utilizing the Sejong Smart City V2X infrastructure.
In the information security session, Seung Hyojin, Team Leader at the Sejong Technopark, introduced technology trends in the information security industry and Sejong City’s strategy for fostering the information security industry under the theme ‘The State of the Information Security Industry and Development Tasks in the AI Era.’

Lee Gyudo, Deputy Director of the Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation at Korea University, stated, “This FDK-Cluster Forum brought together two core industries, future mobility and information security, into a single axis of cooperation, creating a platform where industry, academia, research institutions, and government can share on-site challenges and develop practical solutions together. Building on today’s vision declaration and agreement signings, we will further strengthen research and business cooperation support systems so that Sejong-based companies can advance from joint project discovery to demonstration linkages and business commercialization.”
Based on the outcomes of this forum, the Sejong RISE Project Group plans to gradually enhance the execution capacity of the Sejong-style industrial cooperation model by operating working-level consultative bodies with participating institutions and companies, planning follow-up programs, and identifying joint projects.
