International Sports Studies major (Class of 2020) Roh Seunghee donates 30 million won for university development
On January 13, Korea University Sejong Campus held a donation ceremony for athlete Roh Seunghee in the Culture and Sports Building, hosted by the College of Culture and Sports.
The ceremony was attended by university officials including Bae Sangwoo, Dean of the College of Culture and Sports, and Kim Sangho, Head of the Division of International Sports Studies, as well as Roh Seunghee and her mother.
The event began with a message of appreciation from the dean, followed by congratulatory remarks from the division head and the reading of a letter of thanks by a representative of the International Sports Studies student council.
In the letter, the student council expressed gratitude, stating that ‘the senior’s donation serves as great motivation and an exemplary model for juniors.’
To honor the donation and express appreciation, the university named Room 218 of the Culture and Sports Building, where the ceremony was held, the ‘Roh Seunghee Lecture Room.’ This was intended to commemorate Roh Seunghee’s warm-hearted support for her alma mater and junior students.
Roh is a professional golfer currently competing on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour. She has continued to achieve consistent results, recording multiple victories in tour tournaments, and has drawn attention within Korean women’s golf through her stable game management and competitive performance.
This donation is particularly meaningful in that it extends her achievements as a professional athlete beyond personal success to social contribution for her alma mater and the nurturing of future generations. In June of last year,
Roh also hosted a coffee truck event to celebrate her victory at the DB Group Korea Women’s Open and to cheer students during their final examinations.
