Three-day global MICE talent training followed by on-site conference–linked experiential learning

 

From January 22 to 23, the Sejong RISE Project Group of Korea University Sejong Campus is holding the ‘2026 Korea–U.S. K-Science Conference’ at the Jochiwon 1927 Art Center in Sejong.

 

Held under the theme ‘Sejong, Connecting the Future of Science and Technology,’ the conference was organized to share the latest technologies and global trends in Sejong City’s strategic industries, including AI, mobility, robotics, and digital healthcare, and to explore future directions for industry development. The event features online participation by local experts from Boston, the United States.

 

On the first day, the 22nd, a keynote session addressing global technology trends was held. Presentations included ‘How Do Robots See the World?’ by an Amazon Robotics engineer; ‘A Control Room on Wheels: Monitoring the Field 24/7 with a Single Robot’ by Zordi, a Physical AI–based robotics and mobility startup; and ‘Developer Capability Strategies in the AI Era’ by a Microsoft expert, sharing insights into current research and industry trends in the United States.

 

This was followed by presentations in future strategic industry fields such as the UAM industry, autonomous mobility, and digital healthcare–bio convergence. At the Sejong City corporate exhibition zone, local companies showcased AI devices, IoT sensors, and medical and robotics-based technologies. Through technology demonstrations, company representatives discussed practical applicability and directions for future cooperation.

 

On the second day, an ideation program involving university students and experts was held, featuring workshops on generating technology utilization ideas based on the design thinking process, team presentations, expert feedback, and awards.

 

This conference was conducted in connection with the previously held three-day ‘Sejong MICE Industry Global Professional Human Resource Development Program.’ University students and international students who completed the program gained hands-on experience in international event planning and operations on site. Through prior training, participants learned about MICE industry trends, event operation practices, and service design–based problem-solving methods, and built practical insights through visits to DDP, Cheil Worldwide, and Design House.
