The Archaeology and Art History major provides research and education in two areas of archaeology and art history. Archaeology is a study on ancient human culture and its traces. It covers research and investigation into the past traces of human beings through historic remains or relics and is in complementary relationships with history. The major covers research and education in the two areas of archaeology and art history. The common primary research subject of these two areas is the past relics, and they have become sophisticated through interactions in the process of their development into contemporary studies.
1. Ability to Conduct Research on Cultural Heritage
Experts on archaeology and art history who have the ability to conduct research on, and have an insight into remains and relics based on liberal arts knowledge and self-esteem about cultural heritage
2. Ability to Work at Cultural Heritage-Related Organizations
Students who have the ability to work for organizations of investigating remains, museums, art galleries, cultural assets-related divisions in local governments through the reinforcement of practical education about the investigation, exhibition, and excavation of remains
3. Ability to Do International Activities
Students who have the ability to work on the international stage and for a variety of international organizations, and who are able to introduce Korean cultural heritage to the world
Graduates can work in various areas related to cultural heritage using the knowledge of archaeology and art history.
(1) National museums, art galleries, and cultural assets-related organizations
(2) Cultural foundations in companies, private art galleries, museums, and culture-related organizations
(3) Organizations of investigating cultural remains, and research organizations (specializing in excavation investigation)
(4) Agencies for museum/art gallery exhibition planning, and culture planning
(5) ultural assets-related curators in each city and province
