The Culture ICT Convergence major aims to create new content in order to improve the future value of existing archaeology and art history, to increase the possibility of its extension, and to respond actively to social demand for the humanities in the future. To do this, it is to connect and combine the outstanding value of cultural heritage and ICT platform.

In order not to fall behind the competition of new ICT convergence based on gradually increasing digital humanism, the active and leading response is essential to secure inevitable timeliness beyond the condition of selection. Creation of human and idea-oriented future value is demanded on the basis of creative thinking and social dynamics that the knowledge of humanities and social sciences pursues. At the same time, macroscopic environment is being built in relation to create conditions for building research base to combine the humanities and social sciences, and invigorating the innovation of ICT, humanities and social sciences.

Required Student Skills and Qualities

1. Ability to Conduct Research on Cultural Heritage
Experts on archaeology and art history who have the ability to conduct research on remains and relics based on liberal arts knowledge and self-esteem about cultural heritage

2. Ability to Combine Cultural Heritage and Technology
문Experts who have the ability to create a competitive value by combining cultural heritage and technology based on the understanding of cultural heritage and the application of digital techniques, systems, and programs

3. Ability to Plan and Apply Cultural Heritage
Planners of cultural content and culture who have the abilities to combine cultural heritage theory, real work and technological application, and to apply them to a variety of cultural industries

Career Paths after Graduation

Due to the curriculum connected with the field of ICT, graduates can make their way into a variety of cultural industries which require new content and ideas.
(1) Cultural foundations in company, private art galleries, museums, and culture-related organizations
(2) Agencies for museum/art gallery exhibition planning, and culture planning
(3) Digital curators: exhibition using digital systems, or exhibition planning through combination of IT and art
(4) Culture-related occupations in the press and mass media
