Korea University Sejong Job Center Offers Youtube Content Creator Education Program

From February 17 to 18, the ‘2019 Winter Vacation Youtube Content Creator Education Program’ was held in Suk Won Hall. This program was held by the Sejong Job Center, with Youtuber Jo Gyurim, currently running the channel “Good Life Unnie,” as program lecturer. Jo Gyurim, who currently has 4400 subscribers, gifted the students with tips on three aspects of Youtube content creation and what ‘good’ content entails. This program’s curriculum covered topics such as creating a channel, creating content, and the various skills required to manage a Youtube channel.

She dealt with ways to be a successful creator by introducing seven steps to Youtube content creation, ranging from topic selection to revenue generation. She picked out three important aspects necessary for creating good content: enjoyment, information, and impression. She emphasized creating content that makes viewers want to share it. To start a Youtube channel, creators must constantly analyze other channels, and have the ability to read the trends and realize the keywords in relation to those trends. She advised that, “Creators need to pay extra attention to strategically developing their own personal individuality that helps them stand out.”

Kim Subin, a participant in the program from the Department of Global Business, said, “The program was a huge help in receiving practical education regarding basic understanding of the Youtube platform, video editing, and Youtube channel creation. As the influence of people driven media has been expanding, I hope that related programs are held more often.”
