Sejong Volunteer Service Center Concludes Business Agreement with Community Service Center in Sejong City

On August 12, at the Administration Building in Korea University Sejong Campus, the Sejong Volunteer Service Center concluded a business agreement (MOU) with Sejong City’s Community Service Center for the exchange and cooperation of volunteer activity. This agreement ceremony was arranged for both organizations to actively cooperate on neighborhood volunteer work and to invigorate volunteer service. A number of guests took part in the ceremony as representatives, including Kim Sangho, director of the Office of Admissions and Public Relations in Korea University and Im Myungok, head of Sejong City’s Community Service Center.

Im said, “Currently, the Community Service Center is planning and designing a program that includes a cooperative network and urban regeneration. Through the agreement, it is expected that a network for activation of volunteering in the city will form and increase engagement in connection with demand.” Choi Hyungjae, head of the Sejong Volunteer Service Center, said, “We are mainly devising non-tact volunteering programs due to the difficulties of volunteering face-to-face during the current pandemic. I hope that the cooperative system for volunteer service is constructed and the center’s capabilities are fully utilized.”

In related news, this past summer, from August 3 to 21, the Sejong Volunteer Service Center took part in the 21st Summer Vacation University Student Talent Service Camp hosted by the Blue Lighthouse Korea Student Aid Foundation (KOSAF). The camp was a mentoring program for those hoping to be part of the career talent donation activity for elementary, middle and high school students who lie in educational blind spots.
