On April 30, a ceremony was held in regard to an agreement on the operation of the 2019 Sejong Start-up Experience Center at the Sejong City Office of Education. The ceremony was held because Korea University Sejong Campus was selected to participate in a private consignment project involving the establishment of the ‘2019 Sejong Start-up Experience Center’ that is overseen by the Sejong City Office of Education. Attending the ceremony were Choi Gyojin, superintendent of education of Sejong City, Lee Seungpyo, director of education policy, Shin Jusik, secondary education director, Vice President An Cheung-O, and Kim Myeonggi, head of the Sejong Start-up Support Team of Korea University Sejong Campus.

The project is a public offering to recruit an institution to entrust the Sejong Start-up Experience Center to, which is expected to foster youth’s spirit to take on challenges and their creative career development capabilities. It will be held from May to the end of February 2020 with a total project cost of 50 million won. The Sejong Start-up Experience Center will establish a comprehensive program guidance center and operate a variety of entrepreneurial experience programs such as start-up experience events, start-up camps, start-up clubs, start-up concerts, a start-up academy, and problem-solving programs.

Kim Hwi, head of the Sejong Start-up Education Center, said, “The establishment of the Sejong Start-up Experience Center at Korea University Sejong Campus is expected to provide rich entrepreneurship education programs for local youths as a youth entrepreneurship education center that cooperates closely with local elementary, middle, and high schools.”
